Sales of 5-door hatchback Ford Fiesta of the fifth generation began in 2001, 3-door more sporty model appeared in 2002. The manufacturer offers the following configurations: Ambiente (basic), Comfort, Trend, Ghia (luxury). In 2005, the car underwent restyling.

Exterior

The appearance of Ford Fiesta V with streamlined contours, large windshield and lowered line of the rear part has little in common with the representatives of the first generation. Mesh radiator grille, stylish headlights of triangular shape, massive front bumper, vertical taillights.

Simple interior trim with the use of quality materials. Noise insulation is weak.

The front panel has a pleasant illumination of green color. All control objects retain a logical and convenient arrangement. There is an on-board computer, Bluetooth function is available, voice control.

Changes after restyling touched the interior trim materials and seat upholstery, the layout of the dashboard and its filling (modern displays, MP3 audio system).

Technical characteristics

In the fifth generation of Ford Fiesta four main engines are offered: power units of Duratec family (1.3 liters, 1.4 liters, 1.6 liters) on gasoline and diesel 1.4-liter turbocharged motor. Limited batches of the car were produced with gasoline and diesel units for 1.2 liters, 1.6 liters, 2.0 liters.

A number of power units worked in combination with a robotized transmission “Durashift” or 4-band automatic, but mostly cars were equipped with a 5-speed manual.

Independent front suspension of MacPherson type, rear – semi-independent beam with longitudinal arms. The brake system is drum. All cars of this model are front-wheel drive.
